Kilifi County experienced peace throughout December holidays with area leaders commending the security agencies’ efforts that ensured successful festivities.
County women rep Mrs. Gertrude Mbeyu said 24 hour security surveillance in tourist resorts of Watamu, Malindi and Mtwapa ensured peace to the public and tourists who had flocked the hotels for holidays.
“We are experiencing the dawn of peace in our County unlike before when frequent attacks were reported. This is commendable,” she said.
She spoke at Maitha grounds in Kilifi town Monday during the rollout of biometric registration for National Police Service Management Information System (NPSMIS) by interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i.
Mbeyu said it was an honour to the people of Kilifi for the system to be launched there and pledged to continue supporting the County security team to guarantee peace at all times.
Kaloleni MP Paul Katana who was also present said though most policemen were good, the image of the entire police force was being tainted by the few bad ones.
He commended the launched system for the police saying it will go a long way in tracking and establishing those officers who did not deserve to serve in the force.
