SDA Pastor tells congregation to register for Huduma Namba

As the registration for Huduma Namba continued to gain momentum, a Seventh Adventist Pastor Saturday advised church members of Tumaini SDA church in Komarock estate in Nairobi County to register themselves in large numbers.
Pastor Haroun Muturi told the church members that the church was in support of the Government programme which was intended to simplify identification while offering services to the citizens.
Pastor Muturi told the congregation that a directive from the Central Kenya Conference (CKC) had instructed that all church members come out in large numbers and register themselves with their children aged 6 years and above. “Go with these children with their birth certificates so that they too are registered for future documentation,” he said.
“As a church, we are here to advise the citizens constructively on all the programmes that the government has lined up for development and Huduma Namba is one of those programmes which will be used by Government to offer prompt service delivery,” said the pastor.
The pastor delivered his message through the church Elder, Evans Nyakundi who explained to the congregation the importance of Huduma Namba.
Nyakundi impressed on the congregation to present themselves immediately after the Sabbath if registration officers will still be offering the service at selected locations.
Unlike the health exercise like polio immunization which is traditionally administered outside the church after divine service, those registering Huduma Namba carried the exercise outside the courts within the estate, supervised by the provincial administration.
Assistant chief for Embakasi Central, Ms Faith Wanjiru told KNA outside Msaponi court that the response from the citizens was impressive and orderly as people were ready to queue and wait for their turn which did not take long.
The administrator advised the youth to come out in large numbers before they reopened school for second term, so that they do not disrupt their studies. She added that they should not wait until the last minute to congest the registration centres.
Huduma Namba registration exercise was launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta on April 2, 2019 in Machakos and later rolled out to other regions countrywide. The exercise is intended to register all Kenyans and foreigners by issuing them with a unique identification number that will assist them to access better services at all institutions in future.
Details captured will assist the holder to only have one identification as opposed to the many documents that had been issued by government.
