Scores of people were today arraigned in a Narok court for flouting measures set by the Ministry of Health to contain Covid-19 disease.
The over 20 people who appeared before Narok Chief Magistrate George Wakahiu pleaded guilty to not observing the curfew hours set by the State as well as not wearing the face masks the right way.
The court heard that the culprits were arrested on Wednesday night in different parts of the county in an intensified crackdown of people who fail to adhere to the regulations put in place.
A number of them were nabbed at Duka Moja in Narok East Sub County while scores of others were arrested at Narok town in Narok North Sub County.
They all pleaded guilty of the offence and were released on a fine of Sh2, 000 failure to which they would spend 14 days in prison.
The war to fight the novel pandemic has been intensified in Narok County with the County Commissioner Evans Achoki warning those who fail to adhere to the directives given to contain the diseases that they will be arrested.
He asked the police officers to be in the front line of enforcing the directives put to contain the spread of the disease.
Already, the county has reported 438 cases of Corona Virus with 17 people having been reported to have succumbed to the disease. 37 health workers were among the people reported to have been infected by the disease.
According to the records from the county health department, the month of August 2020 had a positivity rate of 29 per cent but dropped to zero in the month of September 2020 only to resurface in the month of October which reported 25.6 percent positivity rate.
