Two suspects were Monday arraigned in a Kakamega court charged with raping a mentally challenged minor.
The accused, David Musungu who hails from Butsotso Central area and Zadock Alusiola from Shamberere are said to have raped a pupil at Daisy Special School in Kakamega town.
The court heard that the defendants, who are workers at the school, are said to have committed the offence on a night in November 2015.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Bildad Ochieng, they pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Musungu stated that it could not be possible for them to enter the dormitory as it is usually locked from inside.
On his part, Alusiola said he was surprised to be summoned to the head teacher’s office one morning and interrogated on the same.
The case is set for further hearing on October 28, 2019.
