Wang’arot primary school in Rarieda Sub County has received 21 computers and other digital equipment from Dorine and Maurice Bolo Foundation to enhance digital learning at the school.
Speaking during the donation exercise at the school, the director of the foundation Dr Maurice Bolo said that they have also donated furniture, scanners ,photocopy machines ,printers, 52 ‘ TV , installed Internet and refurbished the school computer lab to the tune of Sh 3.4 million.
Dr Bolo said that the aim of donating the digital equipment is to empower the students and teachers so that they can learn and do research.
He observed that the equipment will also be useful in the CBC curriculum and will benefit the local community to enhance their digital skills.
The director who was flanked by his co-director Mrs Dorine Bolo, revealed that the foundation will extend the donations to other schools in the region as part of its initiative.
“We have started here (Wangarot) but we have also received requests from other schools in the neighbourhood and other parts of Rarieda which we intend to give similar support in future,” said Maurice.
The Co- Director Dorine on the other hand said the donations will address inequality between children in the urban setups and those in the rural setups by giving them opportunities that they would normally not have.
She called upon other well-wishers to share their vision of transforming lives by giving the little they have as donations for the benefit of the disadvantaged population.
