The administration of Busia Township Primary School administration appeals for support as 3 roofs blown off has appealed for financial support after strong winds blew off roof tops of three classrooms Friday evening.
Speaking to the press at the school compound, the School’s Deputy Head teacher, Daniel Odakai said there were no fatalities during the incident.
“Only two pupils were affected with one of them being trampled on during the stampede, while another one suffered from bruises on the head,” he said, adding that the two were now in stable condition.
Odakai appealed to well wishers to come to their aid so that the school’s programme can move on smoothly.
“Even our staffroom was also affected and we have been forced to store some of the certificates in the library,” he said.
The deputy head teacher estimated the cost of the damage to the tune of Sh2 million, adding that the institution had very old buildings.
“As we are speaking now, all the latrines have also had their roofs blown off,” he said wondering how the school will operate on Monday.
The Teso South Constituency Development Fund Chairman, Tom Oteba said he is consulting with the area MP, Goffrey Omuse to ensure that the situation is addressed.
