Savings gained from the construction of Kapteni- Ndunyu Njeru road will be channeled towards sprucing-up of Miharati Township, Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya has said.
Kimunya said about 12km of road-works were saved by contractors working on the road that is near completion.
According to Kimunya, the contractor agreed to undertake among other things, laying of cabros on paths leading to the Kipipiri Sub County Headquarters, tarmac roads connecting the tarmac to Wanjohi Primary school and undertake maintenance works on Mihatati township roads.
“A lot remains desired for the people of Wanjohi and Kipipiri sub counties. Malewa- Ndemi road is in the feasibility stages and we expect the Kenya Rural Roads Authority to prioritize it going forward,” added Kimunya.
While calling on the Huduma Centre secretariat to set base at Wanjohi town ahead of the setting up of the sub county headquarters, the MP announced that already Sh35 million had been set aside by the national government to cater for the construction of an office block in this financial year.
“Our DCC is already deployed and we are working on having a Huduma Centre set up to ease service delivery before the rest of the government departments deploy their staff,” said Kimunya, adding that a police station had already been constructed at the sub county headquarter.
County Commissioner Amos Mariba who promised to fast track the redeployment of staff urged the residents to support them in settling down for ease of service delivery.
“We want to offer you stellar services not just services, being our newest sub county, to add to the other nine,” added Mariba.
The leaders spoke in Miharati on Monday when they commissioned Miharati market constructed through the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA).
