Residents of Entarara area in Loitoktok Sub County are living in fear due to rampant insecurity.
According to the residents, there have been gangs of robbers who are terrorising and robbing them.
John Lemaron, a resident, said the gangs are walking freely and terrorising the residents at night.
Lemaron further noted the gangs commit offences and escape to a neighbouring country, Tanzania.
He pointed out that the gang targets livestock as well as motorcycles.
Patrick Saitoti blamed laxity of security apparatus in the area for the rise of the gangs.
He observed that unless quick measures are taken, they will continue losing their property to the gangs.
He lamented that even after reporting to the police and giving names of suspects, no action had been taken.
Saitoti said they have even reported some members of the gangs who have been positively identified, however no arrests have been made.
He attributed the rise in crime in the area partly to the officers failure to take necessary steps to contain the situation.
