Residents called for effective public participation in county governance

Residents of Nyandarua County have been called upon to give their priority list to inform the next five years plan as the resident decried lagging development.

Governor Moses Badilisha, while announcing the County Integrated Development Plan Public Participation programme, noted that the priorities would form the basis of the plan.

He noted that the plan, would help customize his manifesto for actualization and control development for the five years.

“We are calling upon the youths, men and women of this county to come and give their views about agriculture, roads, hospitals and youth empowerment as well as the business environment.

“Since this is a Bottom-Up economic model that we are advocating for, we call on you to give your opinion to substantiate the Three Pillar Manifesto that we have for the people of Nyandarua,” noted Badilisha.

Residents of Kinangop Sub County will be the first to be accorded a public forum on Tuesday with Kipipiri, Ol Kalou, Ol Jororok and Ndaragwa sub counties holding their forums on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

“Stakeholders and members of the public can also forward their memoranda on the same to the County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Economic Planning as well as sub county offices by November 7, 2022.

“The same can be submitted through email: planning@nyandarua.go.ke. The questionnaire and Governor Manifesto can be downloaded from www.nyandarua.go.ke,” read in part a notice by the CEC Finance, Stephen Njoroge.

Deputy Governor John Mathara called on professionals in other counties to plug into the various platform and give their memoranda for a better county.
