The current heavy downpour pounding Masalani, Ijara and Hulugho Sub-counties of Garissa has severely affected communication and movement of people.
Roads from Garissa to Masalani and garden to Masalani in Ijara Sub County have been rendered impassable.
However, according to the Ministry of Education official, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Examinations (KCPE) exams will be airlifted to various schools in the sub counties come on Tuesday as roads to the schools are impassable.
A bus plying Garissa to Masalani ‘Dek Express’ has ceased services between the two towns, this is according to Haret Adan, the Manager of the Company.
‘Kilas Express’ has stopped operation in Hulugho and Sangailu area of Hulugho Sub- County.
The Ijara County Administrator, Hajir Ahmed Dahir, said the floods as affected movement of resident from one town to the other.
Dahir is worried of shortage of food items in supply shops if the floods continues due to lack of supplies from Garissa and Mombasa.
