President William Ruto is expected to Officially Open the week-long Universal Healthcare Expo at Kapkatet grounds in Bureti Sub-County, Kericho County on October 13, 2023, ahead of the 14th edition of the national Mashujaa Day celebrations to be held at the Green Stadium in Kericho town.
This year’s Mashujaa celebrations will be anchored on universal healthcare, which is one of the pillars against which the government has propped the Kenya Vision 2030 targets.
The Ministry of Health will therefore showcase through the week-long Expo, the health products, health technologies, and health information systems which include digitization, innovation and technology, as well as health care financing.
Addressing the Press, Kericho County Governor Dr Eric Mutai said guests and members of public will stream in at the Kapkatet grounds for the Universal Healthcare Expo until October 19 when the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is expected to officially close the Expo.
Governor Mutai also revealed that on October 15, 2023, the President accompanied by other dignitaries, clergy and members of public will attend an interdenominational prayer service at in Kipsinende Training Institute in Kipkelion West Sub-County.
“The president will also be launching a number of projects including the aggregated industrial park at Kapsorok in Soin-Sigowet Sub-County, the Milk processor, the affordable housing programme in Ainamoi, settling of the Chelimo squatters, and we also hope to launch the Referral Hospital,” added Dr Mutai.
