President Ruto will on Sunday attend an interdenominational prayer service in Bomet County Sunday.
The Head of State will grace a prayer service at the Club 181 Stadium in Sotik Sub County and later on, engage area residents while unveiling projects in the region.
Some of the key projects taking shape in the County include the President’s affordable housing project that has already started in Bomet Central Sub-County.
According to the County Housing Officer, the Construction of 250 house units has started shaping up with more than 200 youths from the community benefiting from employment opportunities in the Project.
The project is expected to be completed in 12 months and it is intended to create a new generation of homeowners under the Affordable Housing Programme.
Reports indicate that other projects to be unveiled by the Head of the State include the commissioning of the main power line from Olkaria-Bomet-Migori-Muhoroni which is set to transmit 132KVA of electricity.
Addressing the residents of Sotik, Bomet County, Commissioner Dr. Omar Ahmed urged residents to come out in numbers and receive the Head of the State.
The Commissioner further forewarned youths from being used by politicians to disrupt the Sunday worship event as it was witnessed a month ago during an affirmative fund event hosted by Bomet Women Rep Linet Chepkorir at Bomet Green Stadium that ended prematurely after political differences between two factions erupted forcing leaders to run for their lives.
“I want to caution anyone anticipating to cause mayhem or engaging in any rowdy activities that are likely to disrupt peace on Sunday that security organs are on high alert,” stated Dr Omar.
This will be President Ruto’s second visit to Bomet County since he was sworn in as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya.
