The third day of President William Ruto tour in Mt. Kenya Region saw Nyandarua County Government promise Sh800 million to complete the stalled J.M. Kariuki Memorial County Referral Hospital.
While promising the funding, President Ruto said this would ensure that the people of Nyandarua have access to quality and affordable medical care.
During his tour in Ol Kalou, President Ruto also assessed the ongoing construction of the 142-bed capacity J.M. Kariuki Memorial County Referral Hospital which is intended to offer inpatient, outpatient, imaging, laboratory, emergency, and maternal and child healthcare services.
He noted that the remaining part of the hospital construction, now at about 48 percent progress, would be taken over by the Kenya Defence Force (KDF) which would oversee its completion by November this year.
The President also flagged off the Last Mile Electricity Connectivity Project at the Jua Kali Stage, Ol Kalou Town and inspected the Ol Kalou Affordable Housing project.
He also officially commissioned construction of Engineer wholesale and retail market at a cost of Sh380 million in a ceremony hosted by Governor (Dr.) Moses Kiarie Badilisha.
Also set for construction in the area is a regional Mau Mau Museum at the Kinyahwe courthouse to be known as Dedan Kimathi Memorial Museum.
