A 30 year old woman committed suicide today morning at Shanty estate in Kitale town.
The woman who was 8 months pregnant allegedly killed herself after suspecting the husband of being unfaithful.
The Matisi Senior Chief, Janet Nafula told KNA that she had reports from neighbours that the woman, Phylis Moraa has constantly been picking quarrels with her husband and has been daring him to kill her for his unfaithfulness.
The Trans Nzoia County Police Commander (CPC), Ayub Ali Gitonga said that the woman hanged herself using a rope in her rental house.
He said that reports indicated that the woman who hawks milk had gone to her daily business but left her 8 year old boy selling the milk at Shanty estate and went back home to hang herself using a sisal rope on the door frame.
The CPC said that the woman did not leave a suicide note and her body was taken to Kitale referral hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Meanwhile, a body of a one day infant was discovered at Maili Tatu village in Kitale on Monday morning.
Gitonga told KNA that the body of the infant was lying beside the Webuye –Kitale road in a carton.
He said that the body did not have any physical injuries and was covered in a piece of cloth and stashed in a carton.
