Police launch investigations after a woman’s naked body is found

Teso North police have launched investigations following the discovery of a woman’s naked body in a thicket in Kocholya area on Friday morning.
Confirming the incident the Sub County Police Commander David Muange said the youthful woman might have been killed elsewhere and her body transported to the site.
Muange told the press that preliminary investigations indicated the woman lived in Bumula. The body had no bruises, an indication she did not struggle with her killers.
“At the moment we cannot ascertain whether the lady was raped before being killed as that can only be done by a medical expert. We have also confirmed that she was married but had since separated with her husband,” he stated.

The woman’s body was taken to Kocholya Sub County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem to establish the cause of death.
Regarding the rampant burglary incidents in the sub county, Muange noted that police have intensified patrols and appealed to members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of the criminals to security agencies.
He revealed that unknown people broke into St Joseph’s Kocholya Secondary School and stole a television set on Thursday night and the same group is believed to have killed a night guard at Arizona Club in Kocholya market before heading to the school.
Muange said the sub county security team is in the process of reviewing CCTV footage retrieved from cameras at the school which might contain crucial information that may help in the identification and subsequent arrest of the thugs.
