Police in Narok county are investigating an incident where a woman is alleged to have been assaulted by a police officer while on a mission to reclaim her motorbike in Naroosura area in Narok South Sub-County.
The woman who reported the incident to the police station alleged that the police officer undressed her and assaulted her in her private parts in full view of onlookers.
She claimed that her neighbors and children rushed her to the hospital where she was treated and later discharged.
Disgusting photos showing how she was brutally injured have been circulating over social media with the public demanding the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) and other human rights groups to intervene and give justice to the victim.
However, Narok county police commander Riko Ngare said initial investigations showed that the incident was a result of a love triangle where the woman was fighting for a man with another woman.
The police boss told KNA that he had visited the Naroosura area and is leading the investigation into the incident to unveil what transpired on the fateful day, promising to give a credible report of what transpired soon.
