Police in Kilifi are tracking lost Information Technology related items after a vehicle belonging to Soulco Kenya limited, a Multinational Information Technology solutions company was involved in an accident.
The accident during which the company vehicle rolled several times at Kwa Komba Mwiko-Roka along the Kilifi- Malindi highway occurred on Friday last week.
The four occupants in the vehicle including the driver sustained severe injuries and fractures on their heads, legs and hands and were rushed to Kilifi referral hospital.
Their tools of work, which included laptops, hand drill machine, phones, tool box and servers’ accessories among other things were lost at the accident scene.
Kilifi county police commander Mathew Kipruto said police are tracking the lost tools from villagers and expressed hope that they will all be recovered.
He said the four injured in hospital who are recovering have recorded statements with the police but cannot immediately estimate the value of the lost items.
“The driver of the vehicle has admitted that he lost control of the vehicle which was at high speed as he attempted to avoid head on collision with oncoming vehicle which was overtaking another at a corner. We urge motorists to be careful while driving along highways during the Christmas and New Year festivals”, he said.
The crew in the accident vehicle were from Lamu and were heading to Kilifi to undertake internet repairs before proceeding to Mombasa.
