Machakos Assistant County Commissioner, David Rotich, led the Kazi Mtaani Third Phase launching exercise in Machakos County. He said about 13,000 youth in the County will benefit from the program.
“We will have around 13,000 youth in Machakos County, and 6,500 amongst them will be working in the Machakos Sub-county,” said Rotich.
Rotich said those who applied online for Phase III will be put on the online register as new applicants, while those in Phase 1 and Phase II are already captured in the online register.
He added that those who did not do an online application are not captured in the online register.
“Those who have applied online as new applicants have been put on an online register and those who were in Phases 1 and II and applied are still in that register, if you did not apply online you are not in the register,” said Rotich.
He requested the youths to cooperate with the national government officials mostly the Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs as this will help them to get any relevant information in time.
“It’s good that you work efficiently with the local administrators as this will ensure that any information which is vital you get it at the right time and make sure the work is done promptly,” added Rotich.
Rotich noted that Government was not only interested in the youth’s labor but also engrossed in turning them into responsible citizens who can positively change this country in different aspects.
“The government is focused on turning the youths to be all-rounded individuals and people who can be relied on in this country now and in the future,” noted Rotich.
Kazi Mtaani is an economic stimulus initiative designed to cushion the most vulnerable youth in the informal sector from the effects of the Covid -19 Pandemic.
