Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) Musalia Mudavadi has reiterated his support for the cooperation and working relationship between President Dr. William Ruto and the opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking in Bomet County, Mudavadi clarified that he was in full support of the broad-based government, despite being away on official engagement, during the signing of the MOU between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi, Friday.
The event was attended by prominent leaders including politicians from the Kenya Kwanza-affiliated parties and the ODM party, which Mudavadi missed.
However, speaking during burial ceremony of the late David Kirinyet in Chemaner, Bomet County, on the same day, Mudavadi said that he was in support of the cooperation agreement between the President and the opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The PCS implored Kenyans to support decision by the President to work with the opposition in a bid to foster inclusivity and stability of the country in the spirit of broad-based government.
The late Kirinyet was father of the Principal Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs, Aurelia Ronoh and Mudavadi conveyed condolences from the president to the family and friends.
Hot on the heels of the signing of the MoU between the president and Odinga, Mudavadi stressed that the unity between the two parties is set to enhance and sustain unity among Kenyans.
He also stated that the president’s vision is focused on progress and concern for the people of Kenya and urged the country to support him.
“We must support Ruto to the hilt, and I want to say that his agenda is to unite Kenya and spur development,” Mudavadi said.
The PCS averred that it was due to his own quest for a united Kenya that he led in the merger of his party Amani National Congress (ANC) with UDA for the common agenda of helping President Ruto to steer peaceful coexistence, unity and development in the country.
