Posta Corporation of Kenya (PCK) shined in football and netball games in the 42nd edition of the Kenya Communications Sports Organisation (KECOSO) games being held at William Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok County.
In football, Posta Rangers successfully defended their title after they got the highest points on a round-robin basis.
The team that is currently competing in the Kenya Premier League got 10 points ahead of its competitors to win the title.
In their first match, they beat the Talanta team under the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) 2-1, while in their second match, they hammered the Ministry of Roads and Transport 4-0. The Posta rangers also beat the host, Narok County government, 3-0.
In netball, a well-drilled PCK unseated the defending champions, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), to scoop the title.
The new champions won the tournament after garnering 6 points; the outgoing champions managed to get 4 points, while Kenya Airport Authority (KAA) came in third.
PCK Human Resource Manager Nancy Mathenge attributed the win to teamwork and support from their corporation’s leadership.
She expressed confidence that the employees will resume their work stations more energised and motivated to give their best as they serve the members of the public.
We are committed to improving talents not only in football and netball but in other disciplines like basketball and athletics. We will continue to support our sports personnel to realise their talents,” she said.
The closing ceremony for the eight-day tournament will be held at the William Ole Ntimama Stadium on Saturday.
