Patients in Nyeri County have been assured of a continuous supply of drugs to all health facilities in the region.
Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga says his administration is committed to prioritize health care for all the residents as it is at the heart of a happy, progressive and wealthy people.
The devolved unit is currently disbursing pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceutical products including hypertension drugs, antibiotics, painkillers, syringes, bandages, cleaning agents and gloves among others to rural health facilities to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
The distribution that kicked off Tuesday at Gatitu Dispensary in Nyeri Central Sub- County will be spreading to Gichira, Thageini, Aguthi, Unjiru, Wamagana, Kiganjo, Kinunga, Karia, Marua health facilities and hospitals in Mukurwe-ini Sub-county.
Governor Kahiga noted that the county ordered supplies worth Sh 91 million but Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) supplied commodities worth Sh 43 million, half of the order made.
Kahiga said KEMSA did not have some of the commodities ordered, adding that his administration is exploring other options to fill the gap.
