Pandemic Prompts Public-Private Partnership

Mombasa Cement Factory has donated 10,000 liters of liquid oxygen to Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital for COVID-19 patients.
Health CEC Hazel Koitaba hailed the Mombasa Cement management for donation and their continued support of health programmes in the County.
She said the oxygen will supplement the County reserves needed for critical care of COVID-19 patients at the Referral facility.
COVID-19 patients require high volumes of oxygen as treatment. Every three days the hospital uses 4000 liters of oxygen costing Sh.600, 000.
Mombasa County was one of the Covid-19 hot spots after the Corona Virus Pandemic hit the country in March, this year.
However, Covid-19 positive cases reduced drastically after the county was put on a Lockdown, which restricted movement in and out of the County.
