A total of 55,482 students will sit for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education KCSE) and Kenya Primary Education Assessment (KPSEA) National Examinations in Makueni County this year, area County Director of Education Charles Nyakundi has said.
In KCSE, Nyakundi said 30,330 students which include 15,523 girls and 14,807 boys will sit for the exams that will kick off from November 4 to 22, 2024 across the county.
He disclosed that there will be 428 centre managers, 442 supervisors and 1,646 invigilators who will oversee the examinations during the period saying this is inclusive of the private schools in the area.
“We are prepared to conduct these examinations as expected. Our teachers are to supervise the students and the government has provided enough security to man the exercise,” said Nyakundi while speaking to KNA in his Wote office on Thursday.
“Already students doing French, Arabic Music, Germany and Home science (practical) have done their exams without any hiccups,” he added.
Rehearsal for KCSE students will be in November 1, 2024.
In KPSEA, Nyakundi revealed a total of 25,152 students that includes 11,969 girls and 13,183 boys will sit for the exams that will be conducted on October 28 to 30 saying rehearsal will be on October 25 respectively.
The examination will be conducted in 975 centres manned by 960 managers, 904 supervisors and 1,801 invigilators during the three days. Also private schools are inclusive.
Nyakundi said that the centre managers will collect the examination papers from 20 containers put across in the 10 Sub Counties in the county.
