One died and 18 were injured in a road accident that occurred along Narok- Bomet road near Ololulunga Centre involving two motor vehicles.
According to the Ololulunga Police Station report, the vehicles involved were two passenger matatus that were heading in the same direction from Bomet to Narok Town. The vehicle in front made a slow stoppage to pick a passenger along the road and was hit from behind by the other Matatu that was speedily following from behind.
As a result of the accident, one student from St Pius Uriri was pronounced dead on arrival at Ololulunga Sub County Hospital. Eight passengers sustained serious injuries, while the other 10 sustained slight injuries.
The injured were rushed to Ololulunga sub-county hospital, while others were referred to Narok County hospital for specialised treatment. The body of the deceased was transported to Narok referral mortuary.
The vehicles were towed to the Ololulunga police station yard pending inspection.
