Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has linked the many pending projects in the county to the national government’s inconsistency in the release of development funds.
Addressing mourners during the burial of his nephew Collins Ojaamong, 10, at Okilidu village in Teso South Sub County on Saturday, Ojaamong disclosed that the National Government owes Busia a whooping Sh.4 Billion development Funds.
He said the many unfinished projects across the county will be completed once the National Treasury releases the funds to the county.
He urged residents not to be swayed by propaganda against his government saying his administration will endeavor to fulfill all that is contained in the County Integrated Development Plan 2018-2022.
“We are being blamed from every corner for failing to complete some projects that we started. How do you expect governors to execute their mandates if funds meant for projects are withheld,” he said.
Hinting on his gubernatorial ambitions, the deputy Moses Mulomi told the mourners to remain united saying he will be experienced enough to take over the leadership of Busia County government once Ojaamong’s term ends in 2022.
