Officials of boda boda operators in Homa bay County have issued a stern warning to school-going children not to engage in motorcycle riding during this long holiday.
The officials of Homa-Bay County Bodaboda Association led by the Chairman, Ken Dede said that those children who would be found ferrying passengers would have their motorcycles confiscated and handed over to police.
Dede added that the students should use this long holiday to concentrate on their studies and shun the business of looking for money at a tender age.
He revealed that most of the accidents in the area were caused by riders who were not conversant with traffic rules and regulations.
At the same time, Dede who was accompanied by the Secretary of Sofia boda boda Operators, Richard Opiyo further called on the motorcyclists
not to allow any child below 18 years to operate as a boda boda rider within their areas of operations since their age could not permit them to do so.
