Officers urged to adopt multi-sectorial approach

Government Departments in Siaya have been urged to embrace a multi sectorial approach system to enhance service delivery to the public.

The outgoing Siaya County Commissioner, Michael ole Tialal, said that the One- Government approach system, where different government departments pull together towards achieving a common goal has proved successful, with positive results being recorded within the stipulated time frame.

Tialal was speaking at the IEBC Hall in Siaya town during the official handing over ceremony where he ushered in the new County Commissioner, Mohammed Barre.

“Through the One – Government approach, we have been able to work as a team. No Department should isolate itself” he told the national government departmental heads who attended the ceremony, adding that when different departments pull together, success becomes automatic.

The Commissioner, who is moving to the Ministry of Tourism on promotion as the Secretary for Administration, called on civil servants to uphold ethics and observe the code of regulations as they render service to Kenyans.

He stressed the need for the public servants to remain neutral as the country heads towards 2022 election year.

The incoming County Commissioner, Mohammed Barre, called for focus amongst civil servants, adding that a diligent officer will always be pained when he or she fails to deliver.

Barre, who moved from Murang’a to Siaya in the recent changes within the National Government Administration Officers, urged government officers to always share information whenever they feel that something was not going well.
