The County Government of Nyeri has embarked on a payroll and personnel audit of the Nyeri County Public Service, an exercise being overseen by the Department of County Public Service and Public Administration.
The exercise follows a directive by Governor Mutahi Kahiga, with the head count expected to enhance efficiency and integrity of the County human resource systems to improve the delivery of services to Nyeri residents.
Speaking during the exercise, CEC Ndirangu Gachunia said, “This exercise is expected to enhance efficiency and integrity of the county human resource systems.
He added that the audit will include verification and authentication of employment and academic documents presented by employees.
The exercise is a precursor to a much wider skills audit to be done by a multi-sectoral team as well as fully digitization of Human Resource Management services within the County.
