NIIMS Training starts

Residents of Butere  Mumias Sub-County have been urged to ensure that they turn up at various registration centres and have their data captured in the oncoming National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) which kicks off on 2nd of April this year.

The  Mumias West Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), Phillip  Soi assured the residents that the government had made adequate arrangements for the exercise and that it would go on as scheduled.

He  called on the Assistant Chiefs and Assistant Registrars who are being trained to do the work to ensure that they implement all that they are taught without fail.

The  DCC  who  was speaking at Bomani ICT centre in Mumias town during the launch of the training exercise for the personnel who will do the registration asked them to keep to the rules and ensure residents are served well.

He noted that the identification, known as Huduma namba  will go a long way in eliminating brokers who were exploiting residents in the name of assisting them get vital government documents.

Soi said the Huduma namba will also enhance service delivery and identification of different individuals alongside curbing the use of fake documents during recruitment of government trainings. Some 83 staff will be trained for the exercise.
