Nguu Masumba Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Harrison Ngui died last night after a vehicle he was driving collided with another along the busy Mombasa-Nairobi highway in Mukaa Sub County.
The 6:30pm grisly road accident that occurred near ACK area when the vehicle registration number KCH 215G/ZF4201 being driven by unknown driver was overtaking a fleet of vehicles when he hit the vehicle registration number KBC 555U Prado being driven by Ngui who died on the spot.
Consequently, a female travelling in the same vehicle with the MCA sustained critical head injuries and was rushed to Machakos Level Five Hospital where she is recuperating.
Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan confirmed the accident on Wednesday morning to KNA and urged motorists to observe traffic rules to avoid loss of lives on our roads.
He said the body of the deceased was moved to Machakos Level 5 Hospital for preservation awaiting autopsy while adding that the vehicles were towed to Salama Police Station yard where they will be inspected.
