A middle aged woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband on Tuesday night.
The mother of a two year old attracted the attention of suspicious neighbours who confronted her after she was found loading household items into a lorry.
Kajiado North Sub-County Administration Police Commander, Peter Ndegwa confirming the incident said the wife of the deceased is the first suspect.
He said body of the deceased, 48, (name withheld) was found lying in a pool of blood inside a vacant house within their rental structures.
Ndegwa said the police were informed of the incident by the residents of Mathare slums in Ngong, who acted swiftly to arrest the suspect before she escaped with her household goods.
“We applaud Mathare slums residents for their participation in the Nyumba Kumi Initiative that helped them to be inquisitive and take fast action to investigate after getting suspicious about their neighbor’s behaviour,” he said.
However, the SCAPC condemned the inhumane act and called on families to resolve their marital conflicts through the police, if the family members and neighbours are unable to find a solution.
The
urged married couples in the area to seek separation incase their marriages are embroiled in marital feuds.
Kigia said one of the Nyumba Kumi Initiative members suspected something was wrong when the suspect started advertising for sale of land and the household items being loaded into a lorry at the same time.
