NGO to enhance education policy in Wajir

A non-governmental organization (NGO) International Aid Services Kenya (IAS-K) made an inaugural visit to Wajir County on Monday.

Representatives from the organization Bernard Omondi and Kulu Ismail who paid a courtesy call to the County Government headquarters were received by County Secretary Abdullahi Hassan, Deputy County Secretary Ahmed Farah, Chief Officer Office of the Governor Eng. Mohamed Maalim, Chief Officer Agriculture Mohamed Noor, Director Water services Eng. Mohamed Farah.

International Aid Services Kenya is a registered NGO with the NGO board with the mission of empowering communities through promotion of access to education, sustainable livelihoods, environmental stewardship and human rights.

According to Omondi, operations officer, the programmes’s thematic areas of focus include; integrated Water Resource Management, Inclusive Education, Resilience and Disaster Risks Reduction, Civil Society Development, Humanitarian Intervention and mainstreaming cross cutting issues.

The organization which intends to extend its services to Wajir County through a physical presence was urged by the County Secretary Abdullahi Hassan to make a formal memorandum of understanding before linkage with the relevant departments.
