Turkana County has welcomed a new cohort of interns to the County Government workforce and partner organizations.
The one-year internship program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical experience, empowering young people and strengthening public service.
Board Member Vonwilly Etiir emphasized the importance of professionalism and dedication in public service.
“Approach this opportunity with integrity, as it will shape your future and the quality-of-service delivery in our county,” he said.
Interns will be deployed to various County Departments and partner NGOs to gain valuable experience and contribute to community development.
Erastus Ngala, another Board Member, highlighted the program’s potential: “By joining Turkana County’s workforce, you are contributing to a stronger, more effective public service,”.
Assistant Director of Human Resource Management Joseph Ngatotin reiterated the board’s commitment to youth empowerment and creating opportunities for young people.
The interns will undergo an induction process to familiarize themselves with their roles and responsibilities.
The ceremony was attended by key officials from the County Government, including Chief Human Resource Officer Phanice Jemaiyo, Principal Administrator Simon Ipoo, and Chief Accountant Joyce Asibitar.
