Needy persons to be ferried to polling centres

Needy and physically challenged person’s in Kisii County will be transported to their polling stations to cast their ballots, Kisii Central Sub county (DCC) Wilberforce Kilonzo has said.

Addressing the press during verification of security for ballot materials at the Nyaribari Chache Tallying centre in Kisii School this morning, Kilonzo said the national administration had organized transport means including vehicles and bodaboda to transport the sick, disabled and the very poor persons in the society.

Nyaribari Chache Returning officer Mark Manco noted that ballots which were under 24- hour security surveillance were secure and ready for distribution to various polling stations in the constituency.

Kilonzo lauded all aspirants for doing their campaigns peacefully and journalists for confirming all information from the authorities saying it went a long way in ensuring peaceful elections.

He said education of stakeholders on peace would continue even after the elections and appealed to the public to volunteer information to security team.
