NCPB-Embu distributes subsided fertiliser

National Cereals Produce Board (NCPB) Embu branch has commenced issuing out the subsidised fertiliser which was released to counties by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on earlier this week.

Eastern Region National NCPB Director Alex Mutangili has said that Embu County has already received the fertiliser.

The Director said that Embu received one lorry of planting fertiliser; DAP and that preparations are ongoing for the county to receive more supplies.

Mutangili said that farmers will be able to access the subsidised fertiliser at a price of Sh 3,275 per 50 kg bag each.

The commodity which was released to counties on September 21 is as a result of the presidential directive made by President William Ruto during his inauguration ceremony where he said that the Government will make available 1.4 Million bags of 50 kg fertiliser to farmers at sudsidised prices.

Mutangili urged Embu residents and specifically farmers to get the fertiliser through the agricultural office in Embu.

“I want to urge our farmers in this county not to be worried at all with the fear that they may not get the subsidised fertiliser. We have enough fertiliser that will be enough for every farmer and also we are going to receive a lot more,” he said.
