The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) in partnership with the National Youth Council Kenya (NYC), has held a two day post-election peace sensitization forum for women leaders in Ngong, Kajiado County aimed at enhancing peace.
Some of the topics covered in the forum that was led by NCIC Commissioner, Dorcas Kedogo and Deputy Director, Mr. Killian Nyambu, alongside other NCIC officials touched on peace building, gender equality and women leadership.
During the exercise, more emphasis was placed towards promotion of post-election peace and cohesion in Kajiado County.
Kajiado North Deputy County Commissioner, Mr. Patrick Mwangi, commended Kenyans for maintaining peace ahead, during and after last month’s General Election.
“Kenyans have portrayed democracy, maturity and readiness to move forward. The Women Leaders Sensitization Forum on peace today is a key initiative by the NCIC and other stakeholders in moving the country forward,” Mwangi stated.
Those in attendance included county officials as well as leaders drawn from different sectors across the county.
