A middle aged businessman was Tuesday found murdered in his rented house in Nanyuki town.
George Gachibi’s body was found in his bedroom lying in a pool of blood at 9.00 am by his employees who had gone to check on him at his house after he failed to answer to their calls and had not reported at his business.
The main door to his house had been broken into by the assailants who left it open after completing their mission.
Laikipia County Criminal Investigations Officer Peter Muinde said that the deceased had several stab wounds in his body especially in the neck and the upper part of the body.
Muinde added that investigations into the incident had commenced and that two suspects a man and a woman had been arrested in Thika.
Muinde added that police had also recovered the deceased’s vehicle and electronic items believed to have been stolen from his house.
“We traced the deceased car signal to a place called Kirwara in Thika Sub County and we also arrested two suspects whom we believe are key in solving the crime,” Muinde said.
The detective added that the lady suspect was the deceased’s girlfriend as they were often together and she used to frequent his house.
He added that the suspects would be charged with murder once they are transferred from Thika police station where they were being held to Nanyuki.
The man’s body was moved to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral hospital mortuary.
