Nakuru City will this Sunday play host to a prayer event which President Dr. William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua are expected to attend.
The event to be held at Nakuru Athletics club will bring together Kenyans of all walks of life to a thanksgiving prayer service for the country.
Governor Susan Kihika, while inviting all the residents to the meet, noted that the event would be co-hosted by the 14 governors in Rift Valley region.
“I have also had an opportunity to host area MPs in planning the event and we are ready for the event,” added Governor Kihika, after a meeting with the Members of Parliament.
The residents also called on the country to pray for rains, noting the failed short rains had caused a decline in harvest and famine.
“We need to thank God for a peaceful election and we also pray that God gives us rain to alleviate the suffering of Kenyans,” added Jared Opande.
