Members of Parliament from Nakuru County have promised to support the county government in ensuring smooth service delivery to the residents and by extension, the realization of the Kenya Kwanza government’s mandate.
The MPs led by Nakuru Town East legislator David Gikaria, voiced their commitment towards positioning Nakuru County as a model of the Kenya Kwanza administration through the achievement of most if not all, development agenda of the new regime including the affordable housing project, hustler financial support and adequate supply of water among other programs.
Governor Susan Kihika who led the legislators in a thanks-giving service at Kingdom Seekers Fellowship Church on Sunday said her government was keen to unveil a County hustler fund to supplement the national kitty scheduled to be unveiled by President Ruto this December, to enable more Kenyans at the grassroots access the funds to improve their lives.
“We will ensure more hustlers access credit without being charged a leg and an arm,” assured the Governor.
Kihika lauded religious groups and churches who have initiated affordable housing for their members and said her government would partner with the churches to ensure more Kenyans benefit from affordable housing projects.
The governor said her administration was working towards ensuring a steady supply of water to the residents and said she was working closely with water stakeholders from neighboring counties and other development partners to ensure that a clean and adequate supply of water was achieved.
On the decongestion of Nakuru city, Kihika asked public service operators to be patient and cooperate with her government as plans to complete the new bus terminus are underway adding that the benefits accrued from the relocation to the new operation areas outweighed the challenges.
Kihika asked the church to continue praying for the Kenya Kwanza government and her administration for more God-given grace to ensure she delivers her mandate successfully and effectively and the prevailing peace to continue to give a conducive environment for the economy to thrive.
Area women Member of Parliament Liza Chelule hailed the Church for its role in ensuring the stability of the country and called for the church to continue praying for families following the rising number of suicides and murders being witnessed within families.
Chelule said she will be focusing more on family-related mental issues, vulnerable groups, and persons living with disability in the county adding that there was a need for society to embrace and support such groups to help alleviate suffering among them.
Lands Cabinet Secretary Nominee Zack Njeru hailed the new cabinet nominated by President William Ruto saying the team was capable and well-endowed with the diversity needed to deliver the Kenya Kwanza agenda for the benefit of all Kenyans and asked Kenyans to support and cooperate with the team once sworn into office.
