The state-of-the-art facility is expected to provide essential technical skills to local youth, opening doors to various employment opportunities.

The project, which had previously faced delays, was hailed as a testament to the county’s commitment to education and youth development.

Martin Gichinga, representing the Governor’s Delivery Unit, addressed the gathering, confirming that the county government is actively procuring equipment to ensure the VTC is fully operational.

He emphasized the importance of community participation, urging residents to encourage their youth to enroll and take advantage of the Sh30,000 capitation offered by Governor Susan Kihika’s administration.

“This VTC is a vital investment in the future of our youth,” stated Gichinga. “We are committed to providing them with the necessary tools and support to succeed.”

He also highlighted other ongoing initiatives by the Governor’s administration, such as the Uji program in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centers, underscoring the county’s holistic approach to education.

Area Member of County Assembly (MCA), John Macharia, expressed his gratitude for the successful completion of the project, acknowledging the strong partnership with Governor Kihika that overcame previous obstacles.

“This project had stalled, but through collaborative efforts, we have delivered this vital facility to our community,” Macharia said. “It will undoubtedly transform the lives of our young people.”

The community members present at the handover expressed immense joy and optimism, viewing the VTC as a significant advancement for the region. Many believe that the facility will provide much-needed skills and opportunities, reducing unemployment and fostering economic growth.
