The government is set to pay Sh47.1 million to 5,886 beneficiaries of the Inua Jamii programme in Mwala, Sub county Gender and Social Development Officer Francis Musyoki has said.
Musyoki said the beneficiaries included 5,100 older persons, 655 orphaned and vulnerable children and 131 persons with severe disabilities.
He told KNA today in his office that each beneficiary would receive a total of Sh8, 000 for November-December and January- February cycles.
“The payments started last week on Thursday. Although there is no deadline, we encourage beneficiaries to collect the money within six months failure to which it will be returned to The Treasury,” said the gender and social development officer.
He appealed to beneficiaries who changed their banks accounts and do not have letters introducing them to the new banks to visit the office for assistance.
“Those without the e- tickets and are not able to access their money should come to the office. We will advise accordingly,” added Musyoki.
