Muslim in Homa Bay County celebrate Idd Mubarak

Thousands of Muslims in Homa Bay County yesterday took part in celebrations to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadhan.

Eid Mubarak is a Religious celebration for Muslims to mark the end of fasting and thank Allah.

Speaking to KNA, the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) Homabay branch Mr Nuhu Omollo Abdul said the Muslim fraternity was grateful for the support received from the government and other stakeholders.

Abdul urged all Kenyans to uphold peace during the celebrations and extend a helping hand to the less fortunate in the society. He further urged Kenyans to observe measures put in place by Ministry of Health to curb the spread of coronavirus. “We urge people to observe all the Ministry of Health protocols to curb the spread of the virus,” he advised.

Abdul further asked residents to visit health centers and get vaccinated against the virus. He told the Muslim community to avoid crowding and observe hygiene during the Eid Mubarak celebrations.

He as well requested the County government to help them find space within Homa Bay Town to build a bigger mosque that can accommodate more faithful.
