Murang’a High among top schools that posted exemplary KCSE results

A total of 421 students from Murang’a High School scored grade C+ and above attaining the minimum university entry points in the 2024 KCSE results released on Thursday.

Fifty students in the national school scored grade A plain and another 106 learners attained grade A-.

Waititu Lewis Mwangi and Ian Humfrey are among other students in the school who scored grade A of 84 points.

The school Principal Willy Kuria said last year they had a candidature of 436 students where a total of 421 scored grade C+ and above.

Kuria said those who scored grade B+ were 103 and another 68 scored grade B plain.

“Students who scored a B minus were 51 and more than 30 students got a C +. Only six students attained grade C-,” said the principal.

He noted that the school attained a mean score of 9.7 and thanked the teachers, students and parents for their dedication that led to exemplary performance.

“The 2024 results were better than those of 2023 when we attained a mean score of 9.1. Still in 2023 the number of A plain was 31. I can attest the results are clean, since the students did their best,” he added.

In Njiriis Boys High school, which is an extra county school, 15 students attained grade A plain and another 13 scored grade A-.

Six students in pioneer school in Maragua scored grade A plain with the deputy head teacher Daniel Mwaura saying commitment by teachers and students has helped the school to attain better grades.

At Karega Day school, three students scored grade A-, six attained grade B+, another 24 got grade B- and 64 learners attained grade C+.

The day school in Kigumo Sub County has been posting good results in the recent past in national examinations.
