Muhoroni residents get relief food

The Government has disbursed 560 bags of 50 kilogrammes each of famine relief food to residents of Muhoroni Sub-County in Kisumu County.

Out of this, 280 bags contained rice while 280 bags had beans for use by residents who have experienced poor harvests this year.

Residents from four locations of the area turned up at Koru Railway Station grounds to receive the food, a function that was officiated by the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Mr. Eliud Owalo.

Leaders from the area thanked the government for the donation saying it would go a long way in benefitting about 3000 households from Koru, Muhoroni, Fort Ternan and Got Nyithindo locations.

CS Owalo asked residents of the area to work hand in hand with the government saying the government was working towards ensuring that all the promises made to the residents during the campaigns would be fulfilled.

He said that the leadership was working towards having an inclusive government that would ensure that all areas of the country benefit from the development agenda of the government as no area would be left out.

Residents who received the food thanked the government for the gesture saying it would go a long way in assisting the families who were experiencing food shortage.
