Mt. Kenya United opened the Betika National Super League round of 18 weekend action with a 2-1 win over Vihiga Bullets on Saturday at the Camp Toyoyo grounds.
Kevin Rungu got Mt. Kenya United ahead with a goal in the 21st minute. His teammate Eric Mata added to the score giving Mt. Kenya a 2-0 lead in the 33rd minute.
This was, however, short-lived as Godfrey Airo pulled one back in the 35th minute, closing off the first half scores at 2-1.
Upon resumption, Vihiga Bullets tried getting the equalizing goal through several attempts however the Mt. Kenya United defense proved impermeable hence sealing the full-time scores at 2-1.
