Mpesa attendant in court for stealing Sh. 131,000

An M-Pesa attendant Beatrice Wangari, 22, was arraigned in a Thika court charged with stealing Sh.131, 000 from her employer.
Beatrice was working at an MPesa shop in Ruiru town, where she is alleged to have stolen the money from February 1 to March 9 when her employer, Joseph Mwaura discovered the loss.
Chief Magistrate Julius Mange’are released her on Sh.50, 000 bond or surety of same amount or a Sh30, 000 cash bail and fixed hearing for April 4.
In the same court, a man stunned the court after he requested the magistrate to jail his son for hurling insults to his mother.
Livingstone Kilimambogo told the court to save his family from their disrespectful son saying they have never had peace in his presence.
He said Eric Munene, 26, is a drug addict who is feared by other family members and letting him free would cause disquiet and unending wrangles in the family.
“This man belongs to jail! We as his parents have done everything to have him change his behavior but have failed. He is a drug addict and it is time for him to face the full wrath of the law,” he told the court. However the magistrate released him on a Sh.20, 000 bond and fixed hearing for April 8.
