MP, donates a 51 seater bus to a Day Secondary School

The  Manyatta MP, John Muchiri has called for thorough investigation on alleged fake Doctorate (PhDs) and degrees in universities.

Muchiri  while handing over a school bus at St. Benedict Day Secondary School in Kithimu area said fake degrees and PhDs can discredit universities which can lead to the removal of their accreditation.

He  called for punitive action of those who will be found culpable after investigations, adding that punishment should be specifically to the universities found engaging in the vice.

The legislator challenged the students to take their education seriously for it is the best gift in life.

He  appreciated the school for posting good results last year during KCSE, as the donation of the bus is a promise he had made in the beginning of the year to all the schools in the constituency which would post exemplary results.

The  MP noted that apart from St. Benedict Secondary school, other four Day secondary schools will benefit with school buses.

Muchiri  said the donation of the buses will improve academic performance in the schools besides assisting members of the local community who will hire the buses at a subsidized cost.

The  St. Benedict Secondary School Principal, Monicah Munyi lauded the MP for honouring his promise and promised the school will continue doing well in KCSE.

She  said that last year the school managed to take 16 students to university, adding that this year she expects over 20 students will go to university.

The Sh. 6.5 Million 51 seater bus was purchased from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty.
