Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has called for the amendment of the constitution through a referendum to pave way for an inclusive government.
Speaking in Kitale town on Wednesday, Amisi said the current constitution has not solved the challenges of tribal politics that has been fueling misunderstanding among communities seeking leadership.
He explained that by amending the constitution and creating other posts, minority communities will have an opportunity to be at the top helm.
The MP called for the creation of the prime minister’s position and appointment of cabinet secretaries from members of parliament, unlike the current structure where Cabinet Secretaries are not politicians.
“We want CSs to be appointed from parliament so that they can be effective in representing the interests of the people,” he added.
