Police in Homa Bay Sub County have launched investigation into the death of a 27 year old motorcyclist whose body was found dangling from the roof top of his house at Rabuor Masawa village, Arujol location of Homa Bay County.
The deceased, Lucas Otieno alias Daddy allegedly committed suicide on Thursday, after disagreeing with his girlfriend with whom they were sharing drinks in one of the pubs within the town.
Confirming the incident, area Chief, Bob Lango said that he received information from a village elder that the deceased was in the pub with his girlfriend, who allegedly danced with another man, thus irking him.
Lango added that the deceased then boarded a motorbike together with his girlfriend to his house,where he later hanged himself, while the girlfriend was deeply sleep.
The Chief said when the girlfriend saw the deceased hanging on the roof top, he took a knife and cut the rope, then called the deceased’s brother.
At the same time, Lango revealed that the deceased was a known drug peddler and called on the youth to be very cautious with their lives and avoid using harmful drugs.
The Chief appealed to members of the public not to take their lives because of sour relationships, but seek counselling.
He also called on parents to offer guidance and counseling to their children.
The body was taken to Homa Bay County Referral hospital awaiting postmortem.
