Baringo gubernatorial aspirant and current Eldama Ravine Member of Parliament Mr. Moses Lessonet has conceded defeat to former governor Benjamin Cheboi.
“We are satisfied with the process of the just concluded elections, we are satisfied that it was free and fair,” said Lessonet.
In a four-minute presser held at his Kabimoi home Lessonet congratulated IEBC for conducting free and fair elections.
“We also congratulate our worthy competitor Benjamin Cheboi and wish him well as he takes Baringo to the next level,” added the Eldama Ravine MP.
“We will support all those who have been elected in this county from the MCA through to the senator,” he said.
He also took time to thank Baringo residents for coming out in large numbers to vote for his team, his competitors and the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto.
He took his time to wish the DP well and said he hoped no one will try to manipulate the results of the General Election and that the process will be transparent.
His running mate Mr. Isaac Chebon and Robert Kiplagat, an aspirant turned his supporter, thanked the people of Baringo for coming out in large numbers to stamp their decision.
They all pledged unity going forward. Lessonet was running on an independent ticket after losing in the UDA nominations to Benjamin Cheboi.
He teamed up with the 2017 first runners up Mr. Chebon whom he nominated as his running mate and another UDA nominations looser Mr. Kiplagat to campaign for his ticket.
The race had attracted three candidates with the third being the incumbent Governor Stanley Kiptis who is yet to concede defeat with even all the results tallied at the constituency level.
